Concept Cars - 2010 BMW

A small independent body styling company, Racer X Design, decided to release some renderings of their BMW RZ-M6 concept based on the popular 6 Series and we believe, on the M1 Hommage also. If you recall, 2003 is remembered by the BMW fans as the year the 6 Series made its comeback as a production car.
The original 6er was launched in 1976 with two models: the 630CS and 633CSi.1984 saw the introduction of the M635CSi, essentially an E24 powered by the powerplant of the BMW M1. Last year, in honor of the M1’s 30th birthday, BMW decided to reveal the M1 Hommage, a concept that pays tribute to the original M1. The fellows at Racer X Design combined the current 6 Series design with the retro style of the E24 6 Series and incorporating design elements from the recently unveiled M1 Hommage.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

With its teardrop windows, almond headlamps, billowing fenders and other quite organized details; the 8C is stunningly beautiful and sexy in its each and every look. The wheels of the 8C have already been ranked among the ten hottest wheels of the year. It features quite charming face metal while underhood looks as charming as its wrapper. Indeed, a nice option for those who want nice functionality with astounding amount of beauty.

Pontiac Solstice Coupe

It’s a fact that most of beautiful cars are expensive, but the Pontiac Solstice Coupe 2009 seems to suggest this is not an exclusive domain for rich only. It’s definitely a lot more than a convertible Solstice that has quite sufficient sheet metal as well as cargo space. With its integrated rear flanks, a liftback window and a traga double-bubble top, the Solstice Coupe is a real beauty. The biggest flaw of the Solstice convertible has been corrected with its hardtop. Though more and more are becoming a victim of credit crunch with every passing day, many may not resist to this inspiring beauty that will hit the market with $25,000 price tag early next year.

Aston Martin DBS 2009

The new flagship DBS, which based on DB-9, is undoubtedly the most beautiful Aston that has ever been produced. But at the same time it is a lot more expensive as well with $260,000 price tag. In the body carbon fiber is really a dominant material and its classic proportions have been blessed with quite exceptionally edgy curves that all make a real gorgeous road star.

Maserati GranTurismo 2009

Almost auto enthusiasts know well what prosodic fabulousness Maserati is quite habitual to offer, and there are only a few vehicles that can compete its Gran Turismo when it comes to beauty of a vehicle. It seems quite ahead in beauty and styling when compared to quite well-designed Aston Martin DBS that has front midship engine layout and long hood. It’s a real beauty for all those who can sense what beauty means for when it comes to autos.

Bob Lutz

In a stark about-face—and in direct opposition to GM CEO Fritz Henderson’s comments on the topic—GM vice chairman Bob Lutz recently told Automobile Magazine that the Pontiac G8 would not be killed at the end of this year. Instead, the car will be rebadged and sold at Chevy dealerships as the Chevrolet Caprice. GM had previously announced that the entire Pontiac brand would cease production by the end of 2010.
The Caprice nameplate hasn’t been used in the U.S. since the 1996, when it was attached to a land barge. Whether buyers have favorable memories of the Caprice name remains to be seen.
Lutz also told Automobile that the Cadillac CTS-V coupe is on track for production and that he’d love to see a CTS-V wagon, too.

2010 Ford Flex EcoBoost V6

We think the funky Ford Flex is comfortable and generally likable, but we’d hardly call it a performance vehicle. The newly available twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 doesn’t fundamentally change that, but it does at least add some performance to a crossover desperate for some speed. As it turns out, a few other modifications help spice things up, too.

2010 Audi A4, A5, and Q5

The big news for Audi’s slinky A5 coupe is the addition of the 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine as an option for 2010. Other changes for the 2010 A4 and A5 include available LED taillights and Audi’s third-generation Multi-Media Interface (MMI) system. While the 3.2-liter V-6 remains the sole engine option for the Q5, a new Luxury package adds 20-inch S-line wheels and coddles drivers in ventilated seats wrapped in premium Milano leather.
With pricing similar to 2009 models, the 2010 A4 2.0T FWD sedan will start at $32,275 with a CVT; add $900 for Quattro all-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual.

2011 Ford Fiesta

Ford is playing a familiar tune with the new Fiesta. It goes like this: Take a hot product from the European portfolio, adapt the car to U.S. regulations, and spread the development cost over another continent. It sounds simple, but the Focus and the Contour—Ford’s previous attempts at a “world car”—showed the complications associated with that orchestration. The Contour’s size (and especially its back seat) was too small for American tastes, and the Focus, while a sales success, was plagued by recalls in the switch to North American production.

2010 Lexus HS250h

When it arrives in dealerships this August, Lexus’s hybrid-only HS250h will start at $35,075, with the Premium trim available for $37,845.
Even the cheaper models are well equipped: standard features include power front seats, 10-speaker CD player, Bluetooth connectivity, 10 airbags, and 17-inch wheels. Premium models add heated and cooled front seats, automatic windshield wipers, headed mirrors, and wood interior trim.
Standard cars can add the Touring package, which includes heated seats, LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels. Touring models can pick the Technology package which includes a heads-up display, lane departure warning with an active “lane keep assist” similar to Infiniti’s lane-departure prevention, and Intuitive Park Assist. A Mark Levinson 330-watt surround sound system is also available.

Acura ZDX:

Acura enters the newly birthed SUV four-door coupe segment (think Mercedes-Benz CLS on steroids) with the Acura ZDX. The 300 hp from the 3.7-liter V-6 seen in the MDX is put to the pavement via Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and 19-inch wheels. Hand-finished leather touches inside the cabin of the ZDX may tug at possible luxo-seeking X6 shoppers. Pricing will fall between the Acura MDX and RL sedan, and will include amenities such as navigation, voice recognition, Bluetooth, iPod integration, and a panoramic glass roof. The ZDX also gets hidden rear door handles, a feature that gives this four-door coupe a two-door look, adding even more confusion to the salesman pitching an SUV sports coupe.

Aston Martin Vanquish

The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish is a supercar manufactured by Aston Martin since 2001. It rose to fame after being featured as the official James Bond car in Die Another Day, the twentieth James Bond film. In the film, the Vanquish has the usual Bond film embellishments, including active camouflage which rendered the vehicle virtually invisible. The Vanquish is powered by a 5.9 L (5935 cc) 48-valve 60° V12 engine, which produces 343 kW (460 hp) and 542 N·m (400 ft·lbf) of torque. It is controlled by a fly-by-wire throttle and a 6 speed 'paddle shift' or semi-automatic transmission. A special V12 Vanquish S debuted at the 2004 Paris Auto Show with the power upped to 388 kW (520 hp) and 577 N·m (426 ft·lbf).

It is 1.63 m (63 in) tall, 1.99 m (74.8 in) wide, 5.83 m (228 in) long, and weighs 2485 kg (5478 lb). The body of the car is built on an aluminium spaceframe and the Phantom can accelerate to 60 mph (100 km/h) in 5.7 s.

Maybach 62

The Maybach 57 and 62 were the first automobile models of the Maybach brand since the brand's revival by DaimlerChrysler. They are derived from the Mercedes-Benz Maybach concept car presented at the 1997 Tokyo Motorshow (which was based on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan). DaimlerChrysler attempted to buy the Rolls-Royce/Bentley marque when Vickers offered the company up for sale. When this attempt failed (they were outbid by BMW and Volkswagen respectively) they introduced the Maybach as a direct challenger in 2002. Both models are variants of the same ultra-luxurious automobile. The model numbers reflect the respective lengths of the automobiles in decimetres; the 57 is more likely to be owner-driven while the longer 62 is designed with a chauffeur in mind. The engine is a Mercedes-sourced 5.5-liter twin-turbo V12, generating 550 hp.

Mercedes SLR McLaren

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is a sports car and supercar automobile co-developed by DaimlerChrysler and McLaren Cars. It is assembled at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England. Porsche claims it will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62.5 mph) in 3.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 330 km/h (206 mph), although road tests indicated that in actuality the car could accelerate from 0-60 in under 3.5 seconds and to 0-100 in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 335-340km/h (209-212.5mph).

Koenigsegg CCX

The Koenigsegg CCX is the latest supercar from Koenigsegg. CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coupe X. The X commemorates the 10th anniversary of the completion and test drive of the first CC vehicle in 1996. The CCX is powered by a Koenigsegg designed and assembled, all aluminium, 4700 cm³ DOHC 32-valve V8 based on the Ford Modular engine architecture enhanced with twin Rotrex centrifugal superchargers with response system, 1.2 bar boost pressure and an 8.2:1 compression ratio. The engine produces 806 hp (601 kW) and 678 lbf.ft (920 Nm) on 91 octane (U.S. rating) gasoline, 850 hp (634 kW) on 96 octane (Euro rating) gasoline and 900 hp (671 kW) on biofuel.

Pagani Zonda C12

The Zonda C12 F debuted at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. It is the most extensive reengineering of the Pagani car yet, though it shares much with its predecessors including the 7.3 L V12. Power is increased to 602 PS (443 kW/594 hp) with a special clubsport model producing 650 PS (478 kW/641 hp). The company promises a 3.2 second sprint to 60 mph (97 km/h, a top speed over 374 km/h (225 mph) and it will be the queen in braking from 300 km/h to 0 (186 mph to 0). The Zonda F clubsport has a power to weight ratio of 521 bhp/ton (384 W/kg) . Compare, for example, the Enzo Ferrari which has a power to weight ratio of 483 bhp/ton (356 W/kg).

Ferrari Enzo

The Enzo Ferrari, sometimes referred to as the the Ferrari Enzo and also F60 is a 12-cylinder Ferrari supercar named after the company's founder, Enzo Ferrari. Also used are technologies not allowed in F1 such as active aerodynamics. After a maximum downforce of 1709 pounds (775 kg) is reached at 186 mph (301 km/h) the rear spoiler is actuated by computer to maintain that downforce.

Bugatti Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the most powerful, most expensive, and fastest street-legal production car in the world, with a proven top speed of over 400 km/h (407 km/h or 253 mph). It reached full production in September 2005. The car is built by Volkswagen AG subsidiary Bugatti Automobiles SAS and is sold under the legendary Bugatti marque. It is named after racing driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939 while racing for the original Bugatti firm. The Veyron features a W16 engine—16 cylinders in 4 banks of 4 cylinders. According to Volkswagen, the final production Veyron engine produces between 1020 and 1040 metric hp (1006 to 1026 SAE net hp), so the car will be advertised as producing "1001 horsepower" in both the US and European markets. This easily makes it the most powerful production road-car engine in history.
